I love apple orchards, football games, chilly weather, bright leaves, boots and scarfs, Halloween costumes, and Thanksgiving festivities.
One of my favorite things about fall is the smell. The scent of apple, pumpkin, and cranberry. I was able to find some amazing fall scented lotions at Bath and Body Works that allow me to enjoy the smells of fall all day. They are delicious smelling without making you smell like a pie, which I appreciate.
I love the colors of fall. The reds, oranges, deep purples, and greens. I am one to go all out with my nails and my eyeshadow, so I'm excited to have so many of my favorite fall colors on my fingers and toes for the next few months.
Fall is always a fun and experimental time for me. I am the queen of neutral make up, and my friends often joke about my makeup bag being full of cosmetics in the shades "brown, brown, and brown", but I find that in the fall, I'm much more likely to play around with colors and looks that are out of my comfort zone.
My main obstacle every season is my love/hate relationship with red lipstick. I love the look of it, from the summery orange-reds, to the fall brick reds...I love them all. Just not on me. I didn't touch lipstick (I was a MAC lipglass girl for many, many years) until I graduated college, and even then, I was not brave enough to go bright.
My plan is to change that this year. I am determined to wear red lips and feel good about it. Here's a look at what I think will be my go-tos this fall...including a beautiful red lipstick from MAC...
